Study and Stayâ„¢ – Capstone ProgramÌý

The Study and Stayâ„¢ - Nova Scotia Capstone Program is designed to provide personalized support to international students in their final year at a Nova Scotian post-secondary institution, helping them transition from student life to a successful career in the province. The program combines personalized one-on-one and group support, helping participants gain the skills, knowledge, and connections they need to succeed after graduation.ÌýÌý

The Study and Stayâ„¢ – Nova Scotia Capstone Program focuses on the following areas:Ìý

• Intercultural and professional communicationÌý

• Career development and skill-buildingÌý

• Networking and professional connectionsÌý

• Employer connection development.Ìý

• Community integrationÌý

• Peer-to-peer network buildingÌý

• Access to immigration webinars and workshops Ìý

• Professional mentorshipÌýÌý

Time Commitment: About 2-6 hours per month, including 4–6 mentor meetings between February and June.Ìý

Application ProcessÌý

Once you’ve created your iCent profile, log in to the to complete your application. Take your time with the answers. This is your opportunity to help the selection committee truly understand your background and what makes you a strong fit for the program. The application typically takes no more than 45 minutes to complete, so be sure to set aside sufficient time to finish it in one session.ÌýÌý

Letter of Intent Guidelines: Study and Stayâ„¢ - Nova Scotia Capstone ProgramÌý

The Study and Stayâ„¢ Nova Scotia Capstone Program is for motivated students who planwant to live, work, and contribute to communities in Nova Scotia after graduation. Your Letter of Intent helps us understand your motivation and why you’re a good fit for the program.Ìý

What to submit:Ìý

• One page (maximum 600 words)Ìý

• Include your name, your post-secondary institution, and your program of studyÌý

• Save the file as: YourFullName.pdf (example: JohnSmith.pdf)Ìý

• Upload it as a PDF at the end of your application form in the iCent appÌý

What to include in your letter:Ìý

Introduce yourself and explain why you believe you’re an ideal candidate for the program. You can reflect on the following:Ìý

• Future Goals: What do you hope to achieve in the next 1–2 years? How does living and working in Nova Scotia fit into your plans?Ìý

• Proudest Achievement: Share your most important personal, academic, community, or professional accomplishment and why it matters to you.Ìý

• Program Expectations: What do you expect from the Study and Stayâ„¢ Nova Scotia Capstone Program, and what do you hope to gain from participating?Ìý

Applicants will be notified of their application status by email, following the timeline set each year by the Program Coordinator. Applications received after the deadline will be placed on a waiting list.Ìý
